About Father Hough
Fr. J. Patrick Hough, SJ, 50, a Lancashire, England, native, holds bachelor’s degrees from both Leeds University and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. Before joining the Society in 2002, he went to Sydney, Australia, to teach, coach and work with the music program at St. Ignatius High School. Jesuit assignments took him to Sacred Heart Church in El Paso, Jesuit Dallas Preparatory High School, Jesuit Tampa and Regis, New York. Fr. Hough earned a master’s degree in medieval history from Fordham University and a licentiate in sacred theology from the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University. He also studied orchestral conducting and singing as well as coaching rowing at the high school and collegiate level. Fr. Hough is currently the director of Grand Coteau Retreats.
